According to Sahaja Yoga: The 7 Chakras from Mooladhara to Sahasrara – In Brief*
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi explained that when the Kundalini awakens, it passes through these seven chakras. Each chakra has its own deity, element, and qualities:
1. *Mooladhara Chakra* – Below the pelvis
*Deity*: Shri Ganesha, *Element*: Earth
*Qualities*: Purity, innocence, wisdom, stability
*Color*: Red
*When blocked*: Fear, insecurity, greed, constipation
2. *Swadhisthana Chakra* – To the left of the navel
*Deities*: Lord Brahma, Mother Saraswati, *Element*: Water
*Qualities*: Creativity, pure knowledge, appreciation of beauty
*Color*: Orange
*When blocked*: Laziness, overthinking, alcohol/drug addiction
*When balanced*: You become creative, intelligent, and joyful.
3. *Nabhi Chakra* – At the center of the navel
*Deities*: Lord Vishnu, Mother Lakshmi, *Element*: Fire
*Qualities*: Contentment, generosity, righteousness, balance
*Color*: Yellow
*When blocked*: Greed, earning money unethically, diabetes, ulcers
*When balanced*: You become content, righteous, and responsible.
4. *Anahata Chakra* – At the center of the heart
*Deities*: Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati, *Element*: Air
*Qualities*: Love, compassion, security, self-confidence
*Color*: Green
*When blocked*: Insecurity, attachment to one's mother, heart disease
5. *Vishuddhi Chakra* – In the throat
*Deities*: Shri Krishna, Radha, *Element*: Ether/Space
*Qualities*: Pure communication, witness state, speaking sweetly
*Color*: Blue
*When blocked*: Anger, blaming others, throat disorders
*When balanced*: You speak kindly and become a witness.
6. *Agnya Chakra* – Between the eyebrows
*Deity*: Lord Jesus Christ, *Element*: Light
*Qualities*: Forgiveness, compassion, destruction of ego
*Color*: Gray/Silver
*When blocked*: Ego, inability to forgive, migraines
*When balanced*: You forgive everyone and live in the present.
7. *Sahasrara Chakra* – At the crown of the head
*Deity*: Shri Adi Shakti, *Element*: Harmony of all elements
*Qualities*: Self-realization, union with the Divine, collective consciousness
*Color*: White/Seven colors
*When balanced*: You become your true self—no thoughts, no emotions, only the witness state.
*Important note*: In Sahaja Yoga, there is no method of forcibly opening the chakras. After Kundalini awakening, they naturally become balanced through meditation. Shri Mataji used to say, "Clean the chakras, and they will begin to shine on their own."
