Overcome Blood Pressure and Asthama with Sahajayoga

Hypertension or the high blood pressures is assuming larger proportion day by day. It is spreading like wild fire, uncontrolled altogether. Medical advancement and technologial development and breakthrough in various research have yet to find out reliable, comfortable system of administration for controlling blood pressure.

It is experiened by many people who adopted sahajayoga practices and started doing sahajayoga meditation everyday that they have received more relief from mediation than medication. There are multiple causes for existance of high blood pressure - like life style, compelling competition in every field of life, lack of exercise and sound sleep, number of worries and tension, broken relationship, financial collapse, and so on. High blood pressure is a silent killer it has adverse impact on our body and mind. Person becomes addict of tablets and medicines. All this can be avoided with the daily practice of sahajayoga meditation.

In the research done at Lady Hardinge Medical College , New Delhi , it was found that, antihypertensive drugs, when coupled with Sahaja yoga, considerably increased their efficiency. Once the blood pressure was brought to normal, it was kept within control by practicing only Sahaja yoga.

Sahaja yoga practice modulates the activities of the autonomic nervous system, and also decreases the activities of the sympathetic nervous system that is especially active during psychological stress conditions. Thus it achieves a deep feeling of relaxation, both mental & physical, causing beneficial effects on hypertensive individuals. Moreover, if Sahaja Yoga is made a part of everyday life, by people who are prone to develop hypertension, it could also prevent the onset of the disease as well.

Bronchial Asthma – Breathe Free:

Asthma, once a relatively uncommon disease, is now spreading fast with rising pollution levels and increasing levels of mental strain. As the sufferers have painfully experienced, emotional stress has an escalating effect on the severity of asthma.

Regular practice of Sahaja yoga meditation has the effect of reducing emotional strain and eventually completely evaporating it. The person experiences a feeling of security and thereby the anxiety factor is negated. Sahaja yoga effects on the autonomic nervous system aid the individual to actually avoid the asthmatic attack. Thus Sahaja yoga meditation has highly beneficial effects for asthmatic sufferers – whether done in conjunction with drugs or practiced as a complete remedy.

Sahajayoga and Materialism- Swadhishtan chakra

Everybody of us lives in a world full of materialism. It is bound to be so. It is impossible, impracticable for us to detach ourself from it. We have to passionately follow our goals in life, we desire to go up and up on the ladder of success, wealth, popularity and so on. In this wild game of still conquering everything, in the quest of becoming number 1 or something of that sort, we forget what we have lost in the process of life.

Mataji has rightly commented upon such kind of state of life. She had expressed that - Desire is the seed of Destiny. Every individual has freedom to sow such seed of own destiny. Our desire is just like a genetic code having capability of trasforming into a tree. On this path of live many of us do not know who to attain that desire, and thus follow extreme types of action. We also do not know which way to go, how long to go, what speed to take, where to stop and all such questions.

Self realisation acquired through sahajayoga meditation offers purity to our desire, it moulds it in right perspective. The desire in our mind is followed by aspiration- aspiration implies taking action. When we aspire something, we move forward in that direction and act in particular manner. The brain provides us with stimulus to act upon in different ways, known an unknown.
It is experienced that realisation increases the fertility of the brain. It is all concerned with the " Swadishtan chakra in our mind . We need to peep inside and understand the effect of realisation on swadishtaan chakra i.e. purity of desire. It gets transformed and manifested in following manner in every person, who has got self realisation.

Mataji has commented that -

The irony is that man does not know the right path to 'acquire' materi-alism as well. Either he bends to the extremes of his personality to do so. We know that Swadhishthaan chakra is responsible for our desires and thus, is very important in laying the 'foundation' of one's destiny.

The Divine program acts as a lighthouse and guides a seed to penetrate through soft soil thereby avoiding stones. Once it becomes strong enough, a root can also crush the stones which come in its path and penetrates deeper into the mother earth. Similarly the 'attention' of a realized person becomes divine which penetrates through vibrations thereby avoiding the stones of negativity.

So with realisation everything within us changes, our thoughts, our desires, our way of acting, our aim of life. We can enjoy the materialism of life with purity of thaught and action.

Sahajayoga and Buddhism

Sahajayoga is a way of life, though it is an act of meditation in particularly way, it is at the same time renouned method of getting self realisation, awakening of kundalini, getting Brahma Gyan, becoming our own Guru- by awakening of Guru Tatwa present in ourself.

Pepole from various religions practice Sahajayoga without any problem- physical, mental, cultural, social, religious or of any sort. This is so because the enlightened soul get real, true, full knowledge of life, concepts of religion, practice of various principles adorned by all religions - like love, affection, brotherhood, sympathy, and everything which lead the person on righteous path.

I have come across an interesting article, wherein one seeker from Australia, having christian upbringing, out of interest learned buddhism in Myanmar and for the couple of years is practising "Sahajayoga". His explanation gives us valuable information that - the Middle Path taught and described by Lord Buddha is nothing but Sahajayoga, wherein you get real way to understand it properly.

I just reproduce below his experiene of Sshajayoga-

I have been practicing Sahaja Yoga now for 13 years and through out have learnt so much and all that I had gleaned in Buddhism has come into actualisation. I have learnt that the Middle Way of the Lord Buddha’s teachings is actually the path of Kundalini which rises within our Sushumna Nadi. The Middle Way is the path of Sahaja Yoga. Mother Kundalini awakens within the Brahma Nadi (channel), which is the innermost nadi of the Sushumna Nadi. And, the Sushumna Nadi is within the hollow of the spinal column. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the founder and teacher of Sahaja Yoga, has explained that the hollow of the spinal column was created by the decent of Kundalini into our being at the stage of the foetus. The spine constitutes the centre of our being and this divine energy which flows within, threading and nourishing all the chakras and the left and right nadis of the sympathetic nervous system, is the same energy which nourished and gave the Lord Buddha His enlightenment. When the seeker is ready to receive this divine blessing, the event takes place.

If taken in a logical progression of thought, it goes without saying then that Kundalini manifesting within a person gives balance - the Middle Way. Within us there are the different principles of the divine and one of them is that of the teacher/disciple principle known as Guru Tattwa. This was a principle upon which the Buddha drew a lot and the principle upon which the scores of meditation centres throughout the Buddhist world are built upon. This Guru Tattwa becomes enlightened within us by Kundalini and we slowly but surely become our own teacher/disciple.

When we are able to exercise this Guru Tattwa properly in our personality and in our daily lives we become balanced people. We know when to move forward and when to pull back. We know when to speak and when not to. We know what is right and wrong instinctively and intuitively. And balance when achieved is not a fixed point. It always need to be redefined for every situation that arises. It’s like the pointer of the scale. I also liken it to the rudder of a ship that is always alert to the slightest motion, it being responsible for defining the balance of the ship again and again. From our accumulated experiences a library is built up within us and slowly this new state of being in balance becomes a part of our nature. It’s an innate happening.

Enlightenment knows no boundaries of religion, culture, race, age, or gender. It is for every individual soul to achieve for themselves and every individuals birthright to live life in a balanced way. To be able to enjoy the bliss and peace. To have divine awareness for themselves and to become eternal personalities. Kundalini awakening connects us to our Spirit or Atma which is the source of all things seen and unseen. This Atma is the eternal aspect of our personality and when we become totally identified with it, just as the Lord Buddha had, then we also become like the Lord Buddha, eternal and filled with pure knowledge

Curing diseases by cleansing charkas

Curing diseases by cleansing chakras

Our body is made of different forces. As per hindu philosophy there are five element present in this universe, as per Ayurveda everything on this planet is made of this five elements or panch tatvas. Those are- water, earth, air, fire and ether. Due to imbalance in these elements, which results in catching of related charkas in our body, some sort of physical and mental disorder gets established in our body. So all the human diseases, ailments are the results of catching of these charkas - due to our own wrong behavior. If we cleanse them, then automatically the problem related to it disappears.

So what are the elements related to different charkas, how to cleanse them, and how to correct the balance and get physical fitness is the problem discussed and guided by Mataji Nirmaladevi in her various lectures. I have recently come across a very interesting piece of information- an article on it. The same is reproduced for the benefits of all sahajayogis and other seekers.

In Sahaja Yoga, there are many simple techniques for clearing the chakras. Shri Mataji, who started Sahaja Yoga, devised these easy-to-use techniques based on the elements – water, earth, fire, air and ether – to clear out negativity from the chakras and the nadis (channels), thus bringing balance to the whole Subtle System.

To clear out the whole Subtle System, we need to pay attention to the nadis, or channels. The left channel represents the cool side, the moon side, the past. If we operate too much on the left side, we can fall into sadness, regret and even depression. By simply warming up the left side, for example by using the heat from a candle flame, we can bring the left side into balance.

The right side, on the other hand, is the hot side, the sun side, the future. People who operate too much on the right side become hot-tempered, futuristic, egotistical and lacking in love and compassion. To clear out and balance the right side, we can simply use cold, in the form of ice, applied to our right sides. It is especially important to cool down our livers if they become over-heated through too much right-sided physical activity and too much thinking. As the liver is the seat of the attention, we cannot meditate properly unless our attention is clear.

We can also clear out problems or blockages in the individual chakras by using the appropriate element for each chakra. For example, the element for clearing out the Mooladhara chakra is the earth. So, we can clear this chakra simply by sitting on the earth as much as possible. The element for the heart chakra is air, and to clear this chakra we can do deep-breathing. Being exposed to wind is also very clearing for the heart chakra. The element for the Swadisthan chakra and the Void area is water. A simple technique for clearing these chakras is to do foot-soaking, that is, placing your feet in a bucket or basin of water to which a little salt has been added. You can also footsoak in the sea, a lake or a river.

These are just a few examples of the simple techniques used in Sahaja Yoga for clearing the chakras and the nadis. If you want to find out more about chakra-clearing techniques, please come along to a Sahaja Yoga program. You can find out more information about Sahaja Yoga programs in your area by going to the main website at www.scotlandyoga.com.

Sahajayoga- Spiritual Insight

The most important achievement or benefit whichSahajayoga offers is that it provides Spirititual Insight to the seeker of truth. Mataji Nirmaladevi has rightly said on number of occasions that " without spiritual insight there cannot be pure intelligence or pure truth.

So for everybody who is on the search of real truth, who wants to develop real intelligence he must possess spirititual insight, which is provided very easily by the blessings of Mataji Nirmaladevi. You are always bound to be misled if you depend on your intelligence- which is nothing but your ego. Dominance of ego in our life manytimes makes us to believe that whatever we think is correct, whatever we say is true, our action is the only the real solution the problem ,etc. all such types of things. So intelligence without spiritual insight is nothing but egoistic attitude. When we become slave of our ego - it gets converted into Superego, then things becomes more complicated. The person is likely to become blind to reality, truth and accepts only that version or idea, which suits him, which boost his ego. Thus he follows wrong path, instead of righteous path.

Ego and Super Ego creates lot of real problems for those people who have it. They are highly sensitive ,they can feel hurt at anything which is different from their thinking, different than their expectations etc. Every person is highly affected by the conditioning of his life. It has a great impact in his life- everything he does, he thinks, he acts or reacts, he likes or dislikes - everything. So ego, superego, self conditionings all needs to be tackled for becoming a more conscious person, become real pure soul, and that can be done easily by learning sahahayoga - by cleansing of Agnychakra in our body. When it is cleansed , when it is open, all these problems disappear like a cloud in a sky, which are directed and moved by the flow of air.

With Sahajayoga we get spiritual insight, we know real meaning of religion, we understand the real teachings of great saints on this earth, our every action is guided by and backed by righteous thinking. So self- realisation, personal enlightenment is the great force provided to every individual by the Sahajahyoga, the very , simple and convining method of Meditation of Mataji Nirmaladevi.

Important Teachings of Mataji Nirmaladevi

The following are various teachings given by Mataji Nirmaladevi to sahajayogis on various pujas an public programs , which are really life changing. If we ponder upon it, try to understand those in clear terms and implement in our own life, the quality and tranquility of our life will be far more.

The only sin is to feel small & separate from the whole

From the 1982 address on the occasion of the 9 Nights, Shri Mataji gave a new definition to original sin, which in it's generally known understanding, tends to infuse us with unnecessary guilt. However, the sin, if any, is only to believe we are powerless, individuals disconnected from the great unity.

Some notable quotes from this address to Sahaja Yogis:

'That was the avidya, the artificial knowledge, the knowledge that “I am something,” that “I am the doer” - the ego. Till the animal stage there was no ego, and then the ego started growing. We can say that’s the beginning of the original sin: that “I am something.; I’m doing something; it’s I who can do it.'
So with awakening of Kundalini, you realise who you are, and stop thinking negative abour yourself. It is most step for personal improvement. When the feeling of I am small vanishes, you feel yourself the power of God and lead the right path with full confidence.

Another important benefit of these teachings is that you overcome feeling of depression, which is causing great harm in present world. People think of ending their life in highly depressed conditions. You can after self realisation feel that there is no big cause to worry about life and give up feelings of suicide.

Overcoming Depression by Spreading Enlightenment
Unless and until we are connected, we cannot know how great we are. And that’s how we start condemning ourselves, suffering from depression, this, that frustration. These are all artificial. And they just drop out once you know what you are, what is your capacity, what you can do, what are your powers. So that, you get awakened and you can awaken others also. This is another power you get that you can awaken other people. You don’t have to ask Me to do that. Anybody who is enlightened can do it. Like one candle which is enlightened can enlighten hundred candles. In the same way you can also do it. And once you start doing it the joy is tremendous.

The limits of mental introspection

So introspection, also, if it brings about depression and demeaning of your personality, best is not to introspect also. Because all these mental activities, I have seen, create problems. But in a state where you are thoughtlessly aware, introspection comes to you automatically. You see it automatically. You understand it automatically. You do not think about it, it just comes to you. The whole picture comes to you and you are at peace with yourself. You are never in turmoil, never in trouble. Then you don’t get angry. Then you do not argue, then you do not discuss, but you become as if dropped in to the ocean of awareness and you don’t have to worry as to solve something. When you are reflecting, then you find that this power works.

Know everything through Vibrations.

Sahajayoga Meditation is a very uniques meditation method taught and practiced by people all over the world, belonging to different religions and communities. Its speciality or uniqueness lies in the experience of Vibrations. The person, whose kundalini is awakened and reaches to the Sahastradhar by the blessing of Mataji Nirmaladevi, get the very uncommon experiene of Vibrations.

Those Vibrations are felt through our both hands, finger, various points on our palm. Not necessarily on hands but throught all body at different points. Particularly above over head, we feel very cool breeze approaching us, cooling us, satisfying us, giving us pure love and joy.
It is described in different words in different religions.

In christanity it is called " holy ghost", muslims calls it " ruha". You can name it in any way or form but it is experienced, present with us. It is the existance of god within you, which is reflected in the form of vibrations. Every good thing has vibrations- because it is the "Paramchaitanys" the god itself.

When we enter the kingdom of God, we feel those Vibrations. Vibrations are the way in which God keeps us on right track. With the help of these vibrations, we can know - what is good, what is bad, What is truth , what is false, what would benefit us, what will harm us, whether to believe on any person or not- all worries, problems, doubts in life can be solved with the help of Vibrations. Vibrations is the language of God, which guides us all along our life. Only thing is that we need to develop it, we have to accept it, we have to respect it and seek its help in times of problems.

Vibrations is the manifestation of energy within us called Kunalini. It reflects the integration of our phylosopical, religious, physical and mental power. Kundalini is our Mother, It is the Supreme God, It is the Paramchaitanya present within us.

Mataji has rightly told us that - Kundalini cures you, she improves you, she bestows all the blissful things upon you. She takes you away from the worries at the grosser level", says Shri Mataji.

We are thankful to Mataji Nirmaladevi for awakening our Kundalini and leading us on righteous path.

Jai.Shri.Mataji.

Personality Development and Life changing Quotes of Mataji Nirmaladevi

Since founding the Sahajayoga technique Mataji Nirmaladevi has been guiding the human being as to how develop oneself ,how to overcome hurdles in individual progress, how to get peace of mind, how to enjoy the life, how to resolve the issues and so many things.

For the benefit of all I quote below some of the very important Quotes of Mataji Nirmaladevi-

1. Witnessing -

So to overcome the problems of personality the best thing is to witness, practice witnessing everything: before talking, practice witnessing, before giving any comments, just start witnessing. It’s a very, very satisfying attitude.

1998- Aug. 16, Advanced Program, Cabella, Italy

If we can adopt this attitude of witnessing utterance of each and every word of us,real transformation will take place within us. We would be extremely conscious about our behaviour. We will think before talk, before act and thus can avoid lot of unnecessary futile talking, criticising everybody, wasting valuable time in observing and commenting others and so on. The more we concentrate on self , the more benefits it will provide to you.

2.Wisdom -

Wisdom doesn’t mean that you know how to argue things or you fight with people. No, it doesn’t mean that. Wisdom means how you take to the good side of everything to enjoy it. This is wisdom and that you avoid all destructive things and take to something constructive.
1992 – Sept. 13, Advanced Program, Abbotsford, Canada

Mataji has rightly taught the real meaning of wisdom and we need to be wise in true sense. Wisdom does not lie in arguing your point of view, or questioning others views, or fighting on difference of opinion. Real wisdom will always guide to think in constructive manner, act in constructive manner. Otherwise just showing your wisdom by arguing, questioning, opposing, will never lead you anywhere. Very rarely you would be successful in changing other's mind and thinking. Let is happen in proper way. Let him understand and then he will himself accept it and behave accordingly. So adopt constructive attitude through out the lfe. Live like a real wise man as per the perspective of Mataji.

3. God's creation -

As a mother would see her child, you should see the whole world as a beautiful place that God has created for you.

2007 – June 24, Sahaja Yoga Advanced Program, Cabella, Italy

We need to develop our approach towards life, towards looking at things and happening around us. That changed way of looking can bring about lot of peace, happiness for us. We will find so many things around us beautiful, enjoying, appreciating etc. We would stop grumbling on every small issue. It will drastically change our life.

4. Follow Truth not Ego -

Before knowing the truth, if you depend on your intelligence, you can be misled completely. Intelligence that is without the spiritual insight is your own ego. After Realization, the truth that comes to you is the real, pure truth and is not your ego.
1984 – July 10, Public Program, Cheswick England

Mataji Nirmaladevi has taught a very easy, simple way of overcoming ego problem. Always follow truth. It is very difficult, because many a times we are not ready to know the truth, find out the truth, accept the truth under the over influence of self ego. Ego misguides us , ego makes us behave arrogantly and distance us from reality and can create many other problems in life. The person who can overcome ego can easily face any situation, can adjust oneself, can accept reality, can live balanced life. The touch of truth will light our path of life.

Jail Shri. Mataji.

There are number of instances all the over the world where the sahajayogis have successfully given up these kinds of bad habits.

For the information and benefit of readers some of the examples are reproduced below from various sources -

The way my life has changed

October 16th, 2006

Olga Dementieva, Belgium

I was still in Russia, when I came across Sahaja Yoga. Me and my mother went to spend a holiday in a beautiful resort city in the Nothern Caucases, Piatigorsk. My mother, who had been practising Sahaja Yoga for one year than, suggested to go once to a programme of Sahaja Yoga, that took place in the neighbouring city Jzelieznovodsk. That was the place where she had learnt about Sahaja Yoga one year before the event I’m writing about. As I was interested in all kinds of spiritual teachings, I agreed with pleasure.

So we went. Sergey, who was leading the programme, thought that my mother had already explained everything about Sahaja Yoga to me, so we had a meditation, and then we sang some bhajans – we did everything the way as if I was aware of what I was doing. But I just wasn’t! Sergey asked me at the end of the programme how I felt. I felt very good! My whole being was filled with joy and contentment.

Soon we had to leave for Tambov. There were no sahaja yogis in Tambov at that moment, except for my mother and my sister. They went on practicing Sahaja Yoga, while I completely let it out of my attention.

Once I went to see my friends at their place. Since they were having a drink,I was served a glass of an alcoholic drink I used to like. To my greatest surprise, this time I didn’t like neither the smell, nor the taste of the drink. More over, I was so disgusted, that I couldn’t finish the glass. That was the last time I’ve drunk alcohol. That happend in November 1994 ,more than seven years ago. At that moment I didn’t see the connection between my Selfrealization and being disgusted by alcohol. But little later I met many other sahaja yogis, who had similar experiences. It is known in Sahaja Yoga, that after one gets his Selfrealization, one’s destructive habits (drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc…) fall off.

That was just a small example of how much my life has changed for the better after I started practising Sahaja Yoga. The other positive changes are:

1. My health has improved. Unpleasant chronical diseases, like cistites, disappeared. More over, I’ve learnt to work on my subtle centres in such a way, that deseases don’t get much chance to appear
2. I don’t have to look for the cause of what happens to me in the outside world, but rather try and introspect myself.I’m not reluctant to admit my mistakes, but try to correct them
3. Many destructive qualities, like anger, letargy, lack of selfesteem, deminished
4. My attention has become sharper, thahks to which my ability to learn improved
5. I’ve learnt to controll myself in all kinds of stressfull situations
6. Sahaja Yoga meditations brought a new dimention into my life, which is hard to express with words, but which I wish to everyone of you to experience !

Entry Filed under: Experiences, Belgium- Shajayoga,Australia.

2. From drug abuse to purity and social integration

Before Sahaja Yoga, my life was darkened by mental illness. Day by day, I plodded through college work with a sense of dread. I spent time with marijuana smokers as well as heavier drug users at times. I felt like a social misfit. I fit in nowhere and would go through psychotic episodes and mood swings that would go on endlessly. I was destructive to the property of others and would test my parents at home to see who could scream louder.

For the past three and a half years, I've been using the techniques of Sahaja Yoga to cleanse my inner vision. I now have a genuine interest in learning and participating in society and bettering American culture. The turning point for me was about six months after I began practicing Sahaja Yoga and started to see the minute changes that were occurring. I saw Shri Mataji speak at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Manhattan in the summer of '96. From then on, I gradually and spontaneously gave up on drug abuse and many other issues which have attacked my life.

The older people in Sahaja Yoga have seen the changes in me too. When I walk into a room full of yogis, I feel welcomed, not paranoid. When I spend time with other yogis, I feel like family to them, not a stranger. I look forward to spending time with my parents, not dreading it. I feel enlightened now and remain proud of that knowledge. I feel like a vital part of the human race. I wake up in the morning and am ready to enjoy another day and am finally a pleasant person to spend time with!

3.Rising above suicide - " believe me, Sahajayoga works."

I am writing this for people who, like me, tried to commit suicide and kept after that the desire to start again. I have read that this desire often remains for those who tried once.

After my attempt I was sent on holiday, then to a therapist, then on a yoga course with a 'yoga specialist', all kinds of things to make me forget and get the taste for life back. But I did not.

Until I got my Realization: I knew that this was worth living for. At first I felt for a while a pain on my left heart and had to ask forgiveness to my Spirit for trying to extinguish the life given to me by God. The black ideas receded little by little, and it took a few years for them to disappear completely. But soon after Realization I decided I would not try again.

So I owe my life to Shri Mataji and Sahaja Yoga: without them I would be only a skeleton since ages! Depressive thoughts enter my mind once in a while but never like before. The insidious cancer of suicidal desires has completely gone.

I am sure that some of you reading this have had such thoughts: believe me, Sahaja Yoga works!

How Sahajayoga is different from other types of Yoga

SEPTEMBER 19, 2010

Sahajayoga is different from other types of Yoga

Sahajayoga is different from other types of Yoga. For centuries different types of yoga are prevalent and practiced in India. The Main being - Hathayoga- by Rishi.Patanjali. It consists of Yama, Niyama, Asana, Prnayama, Pratyahara, Dhyan, Dharana and Samadhi. There were eight steps to be followed one by one. Therefore it was called Ashtang Yoga- Yoga having Ashta Aanga i.e. eight steps. It was most tedious, and highly technical things- especially Asanas ( yoga Postures) and Pranayama ( breathing exercises ). Yama, Niyam, etc. dealt with other moral issues in life.
Let us not get involved in it. Just for information i have given in brief the main yoga prevalent for ages in India.

Sahajayoga is very different from it. With the blessings of Mataji Nirmaladevi it happen Sahaj- very easily, spontaneously. It is the most easiest yoga technique, which anyone in the world can learn easily and comfortably follow. By awakening the Kundalini of the seeker, Mataji gives him an opportunity of self realisation, self awakening, and Mother Kundalini present us guides us all our life thereafter. It is but natural that we need to practice sahajayoga meditation, everyday so that the divine seed which is found in ourself, grows well, guiding us on righteous path. It hardly takes 10-15 minutes everyday. Preferably it should be done everyday morning or evening.

It is so easy to perform that you can do it even in your seat in office, during rest hours, or while travelling in car or train. It can be done anytime, any number of times, and for any number of minutes. It all depends on you, how you feel it, how you do it. The more and more you get involoved in it, the more deeper consciousness appears in yourself.

Another important differece of Sahajayoga is that it does not require us to make any life style changes. We can comfortably carry on our work, profession and our family duties. Rather due to Sahajayoga, you become an enlightened soul and then all your deeds becomes more qualitative. You start looking at everything in different perspective, it changes your vision, it gives you broad spectrum, all pervading love and compassion become real part of your life, and so you enjoy life without much disturbances and discontent.

Due to awakening of Kundalini we become our own Guru. Your own connection with the God or Almighty guides you in everything. Mother Kundalini present in us knows everything about us, and hence can guide us properly- what is good for us, what path to follow, how to do it, how to control oneself, how to distance from evil things, how to overcome stress and maintain balance of mind, how to overcome all six enemies of our own- like anger, greed, lust, jealously, vanity and attachment.

In the process of life we have forgotten that we are Spirit, the divine Spirit. Sahajayoga help us recollect our real status in life, our aim in life, our duty as human being after taking birth on this planet. At the birth time everyone is pure spirit, but then in the development of life many impurities get hold of us.

So let us make our own commitment of self realisation, self awakening, self development happens truly in our life.

Jai.Shri Mataji.

Sahajayoga Experiences

Mataji Nirmaladevi is Adishakti on this planet. She knows everythings, about us, our neighbours, our deeds, everything. Mataji is always present everywhere. She always helps disciples when they are in state of great difficulty, upon their prayer or sometimes on her own also, when she feels it is utmost necessary.

Number of people, who practice sahajayoga, get experiences which can be termed as Miracles. If you believe her, if you worship her, if you follow her command, she is always happy and with you.I myself had number of experiences. But for the information of all seekers, I would just refer to a site- sahajayogaexperiences.com, where you can find number of such examples.

Following are some of the experiences-

Three stories now about seeking

It was the middle of 1983 and I had constant dreams of earthquakes, buildings collapsing and spasms of intense heat being released from my lower back. I thought Hatha Yoga would somehow help me. There was a great emptiness in my life, and I kept desiring for something I couldn’t explain or understand. I had just finished a Hatha Yoga class and was waiting for a bus. A picture flashed into my mind of a woman dressed in a long white gown, with long black hair. She was standing in a wooded area with cabins and there were little stones on the ground. This vision disappeared just as quickly as it entered my head, but then a calmness entered my being.

That evening, after dinner, I rested on the couch while my son played with his toys. Suddenly, my hands felt very heavy and strong sensations flashed through my palms and fingers. I sat on the floor. My hands opened, as if ready to receive something. Then I heard a powerful sound coming from way above my head, a rushing sound, like a wind blowing. The sound came down and pierced the top of my head and then filled my whole being. I knew that this was something good and powerful. My son had also opened his hands and felt this energy. I don’t know how long this lasted, maybe one minute, maybe fifteen minutes.

For the next three weeks after this experience I felt a peace and joy that are hard to explain. I was in a state of being where nothing bothered me. I desired nothing and I needed nothing. My son was constantly at my side because he was also feeling these vibrations.

Three months later, in September 1983, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi came to the United States for a big and important tour. I went to Her public program and the next month, October, we had a weekend seminar in northern New York state in Shri Mataji’s presence. Having then more time to be near Shri Mataji, I began to realize that She was not just any ordinary woman, but a woman of great depth, beauty, and grace.

One beautiful evening Shri Mataji spoke to us for some time and then we enjoyed some bhajans, Indian devotional songs. It was quite late and everybody was preparing to go to bed, but I felt a strong desire to go outside for a walk. I realized I had been seeking Shri Mataji all my life and She had been the woman in my vision.

On my way back to the cabin, I passed the house where Shri Mataji was staying. I looked all around me and saw the cabins and the wooded area that I had seen in my vision months before. I even felt the little stones under my feet. I had finally come home!

Some time later, I was starting to establish myself in Sahaja Yoga. I wrote Shri Mataji a letter which contained the basic questions that all seekers desire to have answered. The questions were “Who is God? Who are we? What are we doing here? Why are we here?” Would She answer these questions?

Some time after sending the letter, I had a beautiful dream. Shri Mataji appeared dressed in a pure white sari and holding the letter in her hand.

“I am aware.” She simply said, and I awoke from this dream and could only smile because peace and tranquillity filled my whole being. A couple of days later, I was sitting on a bench in front of my son’s school waiting for him to come out. Watching the mothers waiting for their children, I started to think about Shri Mataji. All of a sudden my Kundalini rose so quickly and so spontaneously. I felt it on the top of my head very strongly. My whole attention was there and then I saw all the people coming together, as if they were all one. I heard their voices very far away. Then my eyes closed and two dreams that I had experienced many years before flashed into my mind. Then miraculously my Sahasrara chakra opened fully.

What I saw is quite difficult to explain. I saw the whole universe in total harmony! There was order, peace and stillness. God was like a great, huge, white, shining planet of radiant energy. He was a state of being of pure total joy and peace, full of limitless knowledge. Around God were little shining planets very similar to Him and containing His same qualities. This picture of astounding beauty and radiance lasted for only a short time.

When I reached home, I felt as if I had to eat something, although I really wasn’t hungry. As I ate a hastily prepared sandwich, my Kundalini again rose and I felt it very strongly. As I ate, I felt as if I were two separate beings. My physical body was just a mechanical thing, functioning like a machine, but my Kundalini was flowing freely and strongly and the joy it gave me is hard to explain. She was my spirit! She was alive and radiant! She permeated my whole being with love and peace.

Her Holiness Shri Mataji graciously granted me the answers to questions I had wanted to know all my life. Who are we? We are nothing but the Spirit. We are the Great Mother’s children who are now on the way to Her Kingdom. God and His Shakti are vibrations of life and peace and we are made in their image. Let us be worthy of this great honour.

During a meditation after the Lord’s Prayer, I saw a very strong bright light pass through the Agnya chakra, at the level of the forehead. I didn’t feel my body any more. It was silent. I had entered into the Kingdom of God.
The greatest experience I had was to see the manifestation of Shri Ganesha. lt is very difficult to meditate when the heart is closed. I begged Shri Ganesha, who is in all the chakras, to open my heart only for one minute just to express my love to You. Suddenly, a fireball, a warm light — I could really see it — raised from Mooladhara chakra at the base of the backbone to my heart and tears came out of my eyes. I cannot describe this feeling. Our quest is to become the Spirit. After a short time the fireball returned the same way, back to Mooladhara and I regretted so much to have only asked for one minute.

Shri Mataji came to New York in about 1982 approximately a year after I’d become a yogi. The local Sahaja Yoga leader had explained over the months that Shri Mataji works on several levels, both on the conscious and subconscious levels. She said that Shri Mataji often worked on us in the dream state, but sometimes we just imagined Shri Mataji was in our dreams. I didn’t really understand.
I was extremely excited and I dreamt of Her. The dream was set at a public programme and Shri Mataji turned and pointed Her right Visshuddhi (index) finger at me. This chakra is connected with Lord Krishna.

“Open your mouth!” She said in the dream. Her command was so direct that when I awoke, my mouth was wide open.

The day of Shri Mataji’s programme arrived and the question of Her presence in the dream kept surfacing. Finally, in my heart, I begged Shri Mataji to put the question to rest: ‘Were You really in my dream telling me to open my mouth?’

Shri Mataji proceeded with her talk but my internal questions kept surfacing. Then, amazingly enough, Shri Mataji began telling a story of little Lord Krishna. She spoke of how the mischievous toddler loved to steal the butter, thus weakening the strength of the devils who battled the righteous. Shri Mataji spoke of how one day Shri Krishna’s mother was preparing some food, when the butter disappeared. She asked him where the butter was and the ever-playful Shri Krishna shook His head.

“Open your mouth, open your mouth,” His mother commanded. In His mouth was the sight of the universe. Shri Mataji had given me my answer, not only the answer of my dream, but the answers of the universe.

America is the country corresponds to the Visshuddhi chakra as far as the world goes. It is at the level of the throat in the body, and of course this is the chakra of Shri Krishna.

I was being whirled into this cosmic flux

I still have this wonderful image of Shri Mataji standing by a sofa in one of the sahaja yogi’s houses, and pointing at some hand-drawn diagram of the chakras and explaining it to us and having my first footsoak sitting in front of Shri Mataji. One of the Sahaja Yogis brought a basin of salty water and Shri Mataji was working on me with limes. The amazing thing was that I allowed it all to happen, because my background had been twelve years in a Methodist school, plus at that time I was a newly qualified aerospace engineer just out of college, with all that skepticism. Whatever Mother did during those sessions cleared me out quite a lot because the next time I met Her in Caxton Hall I experienced spiritual ecstasy.

There were relatively few people in the room. At each program, She would sit down and close Her eyes and those who were Sahaja Yogis would also close their eyes. But I would always watch what was going on, still being rather curious. On this particular day, which was the 8th of April 1978, I was watching Shri Mataji very closely and She opened Her eyes and looked straight at me. And then something very amazing happened.

She just gazed at me and I felt as though I was being pulled into Her eyes. The next thing I knew, I was being whirled into this cosmic flux, going back through time and experiencing all those things that I had studied in history whizzing past me. It is truly hard to describe. I distinctly saw/heard/smelt/felt certain objects like a sabre-tooth tiger, the universe, planets, etc., until it came back to “the beginning.” And then there was nothing, just nothing. And, in the middle of this nothingness was Shri Mataji.

It just encompassed me, this complete silence which was like a thick transparent sphere of silence. I was feeling complete love and compassion flowing out of me, and I was in tune with everything. All of nature, all of life was living and breathing with me. My every gesture made ripples and waves in this completely interlinked creation. All this lasted for three days and nights, where I was in a perpetual state of ecstasy. It is impossible to describe.

Now the interesting thing is that after I had this experience, I went back home and wrote a letter to Mother, just apologizing for having not known who She is. And the next time when I went down to London, which was the following weekend, Shri Mataji came up on stage and looked straight at me and said: “Bala, that was a beautiful letter you wrote me.” And then She told the people that I had had a very special experience and after the meeting She invited me to Her home.
