The Power of a Devotee's Tears

The Power of a Devotee's Tears

"We were in Prague, and we were supposed to go to Poland via… again same thing happens to me with experience I had… via Vienna. And we had a very great Sahaja Yogi with us who told me that the plane will be leaving at eleven o’clock. And from the airport he rings me up, “No, the plane is leaving at 9:30.”
If I want, I can be ready in five minutes or I can take two hours, depends on. So I was ready, I just jumped into the car. We reached the airport, but we were late by fifteen minutes, and the ground lady started shouting at me at the top of her voice, “You people, you are VIPs, you are this, you are that.” All kinds of things she said to me. And this Sahaja Yogi could not bear it and he felt that it was his mistake (that) he told me a wrong time, “That’s why this lady is shouting at my Mother.” He couldn’t bear it. He was very unhappy.

So, we went into the aeroplane with this lady shouting behind, and we saw that the pilot and engineers, they were busy with some correction of the machinery. They said, “It is little bit out of order, it will be ready.” So we sat down. Now this Sahaja Yogi could not bear it, and his tears started rolling down his eyes. Then another Sahaja Yogini, she said, “Brother, it’s all right. Don’t cry.” They were sitting behind me, I just turned round. I said, “It’s all right. Don’t worry.” He said, “No Mother, because of me she could say all these things, you know, I can’t bear it.” And he couldn’t stop crying. Within one minute, the sky, which was absolutely open, was covered with big clouds like huge, big elephants walking into the whole area – very big. All the Sahaja Yogis who were standing also on the other side, on top of the airport, saw it happening. The whole thing became absolutely jet-black. “Oh, my God,” I said, “see, the tears of this gentleman has such powers.” And then the airport people told us that this plane is out of order, so we have to get down. So, we got down, we came back.
Then he went to this ground hostess and told her, “Now, whom should we shout at? Now the plane is not going, should we shout at you? How dare you shout at my Mother and all those things?” But all the people there at the airport, who were still in… under the same regime style, got such a fright.
The manager himself walked to me. He said, “For your plane there’s still five hours and if you want out we can give you permission, all of you can go out.” And he took me by a special way. I couldn’t understand this reaction though. So I went out and we did some shopping or something, and when we came back, we were surprised. All the airport was rather stunned by us. And when I walked, that was the only plane that was leaving.
All the traffic had stopped except for this plane. And when we walked down to board the plane, the gentleman who was there said, “Mother, can you help me?” I said, “How?” “I have got a terrible back pain.” I said, “How can I do it?” Then one lady walked in to say, “Mother, please, I have pain in my shoulder. Can you put Your hand on that?” I just put my hand on her shoulder and she said, “I am feeling all right.” She started lifting her arm. Then I went. I thought I’d better now take to the aeroplane.
When I was walking, the same gentleman came to me, he said, “Why not put hand on my back?” I said, “I have to board the plane.” He said, “I’ll walk with You. You just put Your hand on my back. I’m sure I’ll be all right.” And we walked together about two minutes or so, he said, “I’m all right.”
The whole atmosphere changed. It was such a tremendous effect on these people who have been under a regime and have been really military-like, and the whole treatment was so funny. The whole thing changed in such a short time, and I was amazed how the tears of this Sahaja Yogi has worked this wonder.
Now, imagine a moment when tears started rolling his eyes, that moment just manifested a big drama. And, ultimately, what you find is that the people at the airport became extremely humble and respectful.

Thoughtless Awareness

Thoughtless Awareness

The Indian scriptures describe the following four states of human awareness:

Jagruti the waking state of consciousness
Swapna the dreaming state of consciousness
Sushupti the state of deep sleep in which the mind, the ego and superego are still
Turya the state of thoughtless awareness beyond the mind

The first three states of awareness are commonly experienced in our daily lives.

The fourth state is the state of thoughtless awareness or nirvichara samadhi. This is the state in which the constant rising and falling of thoughts in the mind comes to an end. At first a gap—vilamba—begins to appear between the thoughts. As this gap grows the thoughts diminish and, with the regular practice of meditation, the mind enters easily into thoughtless awareness. Theattention becomes still like a lake without any ripples on it and a deep inner peace begins to dawn upon our awareness.

When there are no ripples on the water of a lake, its surface becomes almost invisible as it reflects the beauty of the landscape around it—the trees and the sky and clouds. In the same way, the still mind reflects the beauty of the creation and melts into the bliss and the peace of the divine. Our growth in Sahaja Yoga lifts us to this higher level of consciousness. “Now, instruction in Yoga (Union). Union is restraining the thought-streams natural to the mind. Then the seer dwells in his own nature. Otherwise he is of the same form as the thoughts.”

Patanjali – “Yoga Sutras” “Enjoyment is only possible when you are beyond your mind. With your mind you can never enjoy. It’s like a big load. It will not act, it will not help. Enjoyment comes when you are in complete silence—in a rippleless lake. The reflection of all the joy that is created on the shores of that lake are completely reflected, they are scribble about GAP Gap between thoughts

Let the mind become still.” Lao Tze Tao Te Ching, verse 16 4 What is Sahaja Yoga Sahaja Yoga – a beginner’s guide X not deflected. If there were ripples it would have been a different image altogether and would have been something nowhere near the image of reality.” Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Italy, Oct 1, 1995

In the state of thoughtless awareness we think neither of the past nor of the future. We are entirely in the present moment, in the state of being and do not waste the precious moments of life thinking about times that are finished forever or yet to come. We start to enjoy our Self, our Spirit, our own inner beauty and the beauty of creation. We start to enjoy being. We are able to enjoy the singing of birds and the scent of flowers at a much deeper level as we are no longer bombarded by the meaningless mental chatter that assails our awareness and pollutes our attention, distracting us from the simple joys of our existence.

In this state, we start to feel the vibrations of our chakras and our surroundings (and the effect of our behavior and lifestyle) on our fingertips. As a result we spontaneously and naturally change ourselves and our environment so that we maximize the joy, both for ourselves and for those around us.

Shri Mataji has described this as“innate religion.” “The Self, which is in fact the Lord and which is called ‘I’ because it abides in the body, is different from the physical and subtle bodies. ‘I am that Spirit. I am without attributes, actionless, eternal, ever free and indestructible. I am not the body which is ever changing and unreal.’ This is called Knowledge by the wise.” Shri Adi Shankaracharya

Sahajayoga - Experiences of seasoned Doctors as explained in Medical Press Conference 1993 in New Delhi

Following in the message by Dr. Talwar.

Dr Talwar: Jai Shri Mataji. Too long and too far to be used to standing behind the mike and talking. Your Holiness, at Your Feet I picked up only one thing. That there is something known as the language of vibrations. And that is what is learned in Sahaja Yoga.

My friend here, one of them asked the proof in the laboratory about the cure for cancer and the diseases. I want to put to you humbly, that the best proof and the best lab is the individual who is suffering from the trouble. It is actually the experience that one goes through with the practice of Sahaja Yoga and bringing yourself into the balance. That you literally find, literally find, a chemical and a neurological balance occurring within your body. Which ultimately brings your wellbeing to the balance of ease, taking away your disease.

I only want to share with you my own experience. It is now forty years I practised in medicine as an obstetrician-gynaecologist and ultimately gave it up. Because I found the futility of only following the laboratory. Because the best lab is in me. And I found that if my lab works properly, the effect of it is felt in others also. It is actually correct when you say that the proof of the pudding lies in its eating. Not in others experience. But you eating the pudding yourself.

Till you have the experience of Sahaja Yoga, it is very difficult for you to appreciate. I may be pardoned if I say this, but to appreciate the real true meaning of Sahaja Yoga. If I tell you about my experience, it is mine. But I still put it before you.

I was proclaimed as a patient of essential hypertension. And tried on as a guinea pig by my doctor friends for a number of years. Till I became a victim of medicine. So much so that the anti-hypertensive drugs which were given to me, gave me more trouble than the disease itself. Ultimately, thanks to Mother and thanks to Sahaja Yoga, I have not taken medicines for nine years now. And my blood pressure seems to be fairly balanced.

I can also share that my wife is here, who is suffering from what is called poly-arthritis. Had practically become a cripple. And also being a doctors wife, had become a guinea pig of so many medical friends. And she went through more hell, I should say, from the treatment than from the disease itself. But ultimately thanks to Sahaja Yoga, through Mother, she is sitting right here, and she is very healthy, and she is full of cheer and laughter. Which seemed to have eluded our family for a long time.

And the last thing is, I underwent four operations for my eyes. And at the last one, they said degenerative changes had started for my eyes and soon I shall go blind. This was about twelve years ago. Thanks to Sahaja Yoga, I can even drive my car at night.

I can only say, these are very small experiences but very valid as far as the individual is concerned. I say in all humility, my friends, this is a subject you should take it along with you. We need the media to spread something positive. And not just give the news which saddened us in the morning. Thank you very much.
