Importance of Makar Sankranti

Sankranti puja talks:

“It means the day today is the day the sun crosses over from the Tropic of Capricorn to the Tropic of Cancer. It is a very big day for us because, now during the summer time we have the harvest, and we look forward to the rain and so many things that happen in every country. The sun falls at right angles in this country during the summer season and so we welcome the sun.”
1985-0114: Makar Sankranti Puja in Suryavanshi hall at Mumbai India
“This special day today is the day of Sankrant. Sankr – you know ‘San’ means good, holy, and ‘krant’ means the Revolution. Holy revolution.
Holy. And that’s what I’m telling them, what is the Holy Revolution is, that your own Dharma is established now through Sahaja Yoga.”
Makar Sankranti Puja Pune (India), January 1st, 1981

“Makar Sankranti indicates that from this day the Sun will get warmer and warmer. The heat of the Sun is beneficial for mankind. All our movements depend on this heat. But the impact of the heat could also excite Anger in us. That is the reason that on this day we eat Jaggery (Gud) so that we become soft spoken. Because of the warmth of the Sun all vegetations and wealth grows on the earth. Fruits and vegetables are offered to the Goddess on this day to invoke Her blessings. By the blessings of the Adi Shakti the Earth element gets calmed down and human being thrives. The festival of Sankranti has cultural significance too. It is celebrated all over the country with joy and gaiety. It is celebrated in some other countries also but it has special significance in India.” ” This is what is today’s day is a great day for us to change, because  the Sun has changed its mood now. Sun is coming this side. So let us  welcome the Sun, coming to the North now, this way. And for  Australians to say that though the Sun has gone, let us establish the  Sun, the domain of Sun, within ourselves.

Spiritual state in the light of Sahajayoga

Spiritual state / maqaamt in the light of Sahajayoga

In the spiritual state, nothing can disturb you, nothing can overpower you, nothing can dominate you, because that state if you have, that means you are part and parcel of reality, then you are an honoured member of the God´s kingdom. Then you are the most revered personality. Then you are like a deity, then you are like a gana. In that state, when you are, it´s a state, again I say it, beyond the human state, you are extremely powerful.
- Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
As we all aware that just getting self realisation and feeling cool breeze is not much important , we have to attain certain state in Sahajayoga in order to understand depth of our self realisation.
maqaam or maqaamat (plural), translating to "state" in Arabic word.
Although the number and order of maqaamat are not universal the majority agree on the following seven: Tawba, Wara', Zuhd, Faqr, Ṣabr, Tawakkul, and Riḍā.Sufis believe that these stations are the grounds of the spiritual life, and they are viewed as a mode through which helps the overall attainment of union/ Yoga or oneness with Allah (Tawhid ).
According to sufi philosophy , state/ maqam is the one stage has been reached that the next stage may be attained. In order to reach a higher maqaam, one must continue to possess the maqaam below it ,in yoga ww called this as Pratayahar.
1. TAWBA - forgiveness ( Aagya chakra)
2. WARA - witness state( Visshudi chakra)
3.Tawaakul - trusting in God's plan ( Sahastrara)
4. RIDA - pleasure ( Heart)
5.SABR - patience ( Nabhi)
6.ZUHD - detachment of attention from material things ( Swadisthan)
7.FAQAR - faqar e faqat which means
Innocen or simple ( Mooladhara).
Haal -
One of the great realised soul Ali bin Usman Al-Hujwiri (formerly known as Data gunj baksh awliya - famous dargah of lahore , Pakistan) in his book Kashf ul Mahjoob: defines Hal as "something that descends from God into a man".
Above all the states Thoughtless awareness and doubtless awareness is what we have to achieve in meditation mentioned by mother in her talks many times.

Learning from the Sea

LEARNING FROM THE SEA

There is no need to go to Himalayas. The – whatever is covering is in the Himalayas, is what is nothing but the water from the sea only. It’s one of the circles, that water passes to the Himalayas, then comes back as rivers, again falls into the same sea. They have to come to the sea. So it is everything ends up here. And then it is allowed – it goes through tapasya – it allows the Sun to create that cloud by suffering the heat, heat of the Sun, and becomes vapours, and then it goes as clouds and you get your rain. In the same way we have to be; we have to bear the heat of others, the anger of others and create vapours – means the blessings, the vibrations for others. It is with Me, same thing. When I see somebody who is sick and I treat him, of course I have to bear a little bit, sometimes quite a lot, then I absorb it and then they become vibrations. They just start flowing as vibrations. So this is what you have to learn from the sea, which is very important for sahaja yogis, that you absorb everything, doesn’t matter. But don’t get attached to it, and let it become vapours, and the Sea can now become the vapours. As you all are here, all these vapours as vibrations should flow.
This method you should try to understand by courage. Because the other day when I was coming, there was a lady sitting just on the way: “Mother, her feet are out of order, or something gone wrong. Please treat her.” Why should I treat? Why can’t you treat? Are you afraid to treat someone? Then there’s another one who comes up to say: “Mother, You treat her.” Why can’t you treat? You all can treat them, you can help them, and you’ll be surprised, the more you’ll treat them the better you will be. You should venture, you should have that much courage to treat others. If you don’t treat others you won’t grow because that is what, like the sea, as you have seen, you become the vibrations. And when you treat others there are more vibrations. Why should God give you vibrations if you are not going to use it? Simple logic. Why should God give you light if you are not going to use it? Christ has said that, “You don’t put light under a measure.” That’s what we are doing when we are not using our hands, our feet, our brains for Sahaja Yoga: we are not creating vibrations within ourselves.
The same body that is yours can just become a bundle of vibrations, if you start using these vibrations. But if you don’t use these vibrations you’ll have problems, the problems, all the time, and you will not understand: “Why? I am doing everything, I am doing this” – because you are not using your vibrations.

Mahamaya would make You Your own Guru, Your Own Doctor

The role of Mahamaya in resolving global problems

Sahasrara is the most powerful chakra because it is the seven chakras combination and many others. With the Sahasrara you can do anything. You can manage the sun, you can manage the moon, you can manage the earth, you can manage the temperatures, everything. But, through Mahamaya things work out very normally, very normally and they should work out normally. For example somebody can say, “Mother, there is atmosphere full of all these horrible ecological problems, why don’t you clear them?” If it is cleared people will go on producing. It is the problem of the human beings and if it is corrected by me they’ll take it for granted. They have to face those problems, they have to change their habits, they have to understand that they are the one who are destruct, destroying themselves. Otherwise, if somebody’s there just to cleanse it out they will never change. Also, miraculously, one can do lots of things. One can say, “Mother, as you solve the problems of Sahaja Yogis, why don’t you solve the problem of others?” No. To solve their problem is not the end of my work, nor is the purpose. But to make them equipped so that they can solve their own problem, that’s what I have to do.
As I’ve said that you have to be your own doctor, you have to be your own guru. Without Mahamaya you cannot do it because She knows how far to go in correcting, how far to go in controlling because human beings, at large, have their own freedom. Sahaja Yogis have not that kind of a stupid freedom, but they have the freedom of the spirit. So to solve their problems is perfectly all right because they must have more freedom and more freedom. But what’s the use of giving freedom to other people who are going on and on and on without realizing what wrong they are doing to the whole world? So, for them it is necessary to come to Sahaja Yoga and that’s why it’s a Mahamaya Swarupa.

Thee Stages for Graduation in Sahajayoga

Following is the text of speech given by Mataji Nirmaladevi in public program in United Kingdom -

“Three Stages for Graduation in Sahajayoga.”

..,,so you know about Kundalini, you know awakening of the Kundalini and all those things. Now we have within ourselves, this power by which it is going to happen to us. This is the power of pure desire, of pure desire within us because so far as we have seen all our desires that we have cannot satisfy us. So there must be some desire within us which leads us to completion or to the fulfilment of our ultimate desire to be the Spirit, and this power lies in the triangular bone in the lowest part of your spinal cord.
Without the Spirit, you cannot understand what is beneath and what is above.
Beneath is your beautiful being, the glorious human being that is created by God and above is the all pervading power of love of God Almighty...
So there are three stages we can say.
◆ First is you are to be awakened, the Kundalini, it has to be brought out of your head here (Shri Mataji’s hand above her head). so that the cool breeze of the holy ghost you can feel it on your head.
◆ This is the second stage where you start feeling a cool breeze also in the hand. So many people don’t feel in the beginning in the hand also on the head they do not feel, because it’s a very subtle thing, but if a Sahaja Yogi feels it that means it has started but in a very subtle way. Then you must allow it to grow more and more and to dispense all the obstructions on its way. Gradually, it becomes a steady light and then a Sahaj Yogi any Sahaj Yogi can put it in such a way that you start feeling it in your hands also. Starts flowing in your hands because from the hands of a Sahaj Yogi, that power is flowing. With that power, he can handle the situation in such a way that your hands start feeling it, flowing from your hand, flowing from here (Shri Mataji’s hand above her head).
Now, when it happens, suddenly, sometimes it happens to people in a very sudden way, in a sudden rush also because they have been seekers for ages perhaps. But then they feel, oh I feel very high, absolutely on top of the world, I’ve become a witness now, naturally, because it is such a change you see. But, that’s not the end of it because you must know how to kindle it properly, to keep it going and all that. If you don’t do that, it will again come down. You must learn how to keep it going, how to work it out. That’s the part that’s the transition part through which you have to go. Some people take at the most eight days, some people take a month or so. But once you have done it, you become your own master.
To give another analogy, a very simple one. It’s like this, when you are driving a car, there’s a break and an accelerator. This is the freedom that has been given to you first of all, to learn how to use the break and the accelerator. To take the car in a proper way, to keep it in the centre, the way it has to move. Then once you have learnt it, what happens is that you automatically become a driver. Nobody has to tell you now put the break, now do this. You know it, automatically you develop it. This is the second stage of driving.
◆ Now the third stage is that you really become an expert in that and you drive without even knowledge that you are driving, when you are perfect. But still there is one more stage left. That there is a master sitting behind, who wants you to drive this way and that way and the master says now stop the car. He’s there. Now what happens that when you really become a Sahaja Yogi, is the point, when you become the master. You start seeing the driver within you, and the accelerator and the break, and you control as a master. That’s the point you have to reach. So these are the four stages through which you have to pass, which gradually works out just like your graduation, without much difficulty, for which you cannot pay. But you must have respect for yourself, you must know you can do it and you must have that understanding that you are a human being. The epitome of evolution, and that you have to become the Spirit. It works out. It works out very fast, these days and should work out in this University also, alright. Analogy should not be taken too far because this is Divine working and Divine working is such that we can’t understand how it works. In the beginning, if I tell you, you’ll be amazed how it works you see. You will say now Mother explain, but I won’t be able to explain so many things. It’s tremendous. The Divine power has all your communications and everything. It’s tremendous and in a split of a second it works. It is to be seen for yourself. Now the time has come to prove the existence of God, to prove the existence of his Divine power. For the first time you start feeling the subtle power when you get your realisation. You start feeling it in your hands as cool breeze of the Holy Ghost. ...
May God bless you.
