A MESSAGE FOR HUMANITY TODAY
The world has never spoken so quickly,
and perhaps never listened so little.
Across invisible networks, billions of human beings are connected,
yet the human heart often remains alone.
We have taught machines to think,
sent our voices across oceans in an instant,
and gathered almost all human knowledge beneath our fingertips.
Yet we have not learned how to silence hatred.
Religions speak of God while His children quarrel over His name.
Prosperity grows beside hunger.
Information multiplies while wisdom struggles to be heard.
And Mother Earth quietly bears the weight of our desires.
Perhaps the great crisis of our age is not merely political, economic, technological or environmental.
Perhaps it is a crisis of consciousness.
For what shall humanity gain if it becomes master of the machine,
but remains a prisoner of anger, greed, fear and division?
Shri Mataji said:
“They have never known the power of love. They have only known the power of hatred. Power of love is so powerful, so dynamic.”
These words seem to stand before our century like a mirror.
For hatred is loud.
Hatred divides the world into us and them.
Love discovers that beneath our languages, nations, colours and beliefs,
the same human longing is seeking peace.
And perhaps humanity's next evolution will not be measured by faster computers, taller cities or more powerful weapons.
It will be measured by whether man can discover the Spirit within himself.
Shri Mataji said:
“First your yoga, first unite. Unite with the Spirit.”
For when man becomes united within,
his relationship with the world begins to change.
Another person's suffering is no longer distant.
Another nation is no longer merely foreign.
Another faith is no longer necessarily a threat.
Another human being is no longer merely another.
We begin to discover the family hidden beneath all our divisions.
Humanity has tried changing systems.
It has changed rulers, borders, currencies and technologies.
Perhaps now it must transform the human being.
Because peace written upon paper cannot endure
if war continues within the heart.
And no technology, however intelligent,
can substitute for an awakened human consciousness.
The question before our generation is therefore not only:
What kind of world shall we build?
It is:
What kind of human beings shall inhabit it?
If we awaken only greater power,
we may become more dangerous.
knowledge may become wisdom,
and freedom may become responsibility.
The world does not suffer from a shortage of intelligence.
It suffers from a shortage of awakened hearts.
And perhaps the revolution humanity now needs
will arrive without armies and without conquest
quietly,
within millions of human beings discovering that the peace they demanded from the world
had first been waiting within themselves.
Change the consciousness,
and perhaps the world will follow.
